all the latest CSDA updates, live and around the clock....

well the debating season is upon us once again, and as the topic's are getting crappier and the supper's stingy-er, many of the new 'senior' debaters are beginning to wonder why they have bothered giving up their friday nights for the 5th year in a row......

but in the end, we really do it love it, and this season is proving to be no exception. the battlefields have been drawn, and the old team has split into two - senior white and senior green.....oooooo

elstonacious d, simonetti and lloyd make up the whites, and dale garsia and maddie have been lumped together in the greens. ms brien said it would never work, but who listens to her anyway? seriously.......

to our delight pullen is back, but unfortunately she's lost the knack of guessing topics ahead of time (we're putting it down to having a baby making her go soft - but we love her anyway)

camp was pretty good - although if we ever have to socialise with that victoria kid again we will all vomit scream cry and run away from home. additionally, we all now know heaps about excess and detriment, and the ever popular 'causal link' - they're sure fire winners.

green and white are both equal at the moment, with the whites sticking to their argument that they only lost to clare's cause the adjudicator was on drugs and the clare's girls performed sexual favours to the teachers beforehand.

extra points to michael mccluskey for the best losing speech of the season so far -  the "capacity crowd" was pretty good, and will be hard to beat. he is closely followed by the gregs boys - in particular the young cad who spoke for only 5 minutes and managed to curse at the audience - on ya son!!

ps emily gavan, hope to see you at a debate soon.....

pps
As unofficial reserve for the team i offer my well wishes to jennif and elst in their debate tonight. I'm sure you girls will be great... perhaps to the extent of being fantastic. or perhaps i've jumped the gun a bit. We'll overlook it. Exaggerations have to come from somewhere, do they not?

I do not look toward to next friday with anticipation however. Alas, the girl here is, shall we say, not notregretting the decision to be the unofficial reserve. She figured that the upside would be, unlike the true debaters, she would have the choice of which friday she felt like arguing on. The girl is now not so sure this worked. Peer pressure proved her downfall. it's cruel, yes it is.

haha. well, i say it now, and shall forever hold peace. forever bless st pats and their 75 years. what a feat. and it has proved the loophole i shall use to get out of debating this week. my thanks for your understanding jenna - even though i know you have so readily replaced me already. that's ok. (bec hines)

i feel it's about time that i add the all important 'scarf song'
this is to be sung by yr 11 csda debators to the tune of coldplay's 'yellow'

look at the scarf
look how it's coloured for you
it has a strip of blue
and feature stripes of yellow

ELIMS ---
not happy jan, spoke the crappest of my life - but lets not dwell on the negatives. got through to elim #1 which is pretty alright really. elstoe did a champion job, wowed the crowd.
but hey, on the bright side we can go to the social now, and have more time for studying for assessment block and getting ready for political theatre (8th august, come...or else)
sorry guys for letting you down, i hope you will forgive me.

ps. hope adam long's team didn't win, cause that would be embarrassing for us....

AND AS WE LATER FOUND OUT, THEY DIDN'T!!!

AND EVEN IN MORE EXCITING WORLD NEWS....
Sarah, Sez and Maddie beat St Gregs - take that dane, aaron and little man. well done kiddos, good luck friday 22nd!!

best of luck to our friendlys in santa green.... and remember, there's no such thing as a cool debater!!
